" I was extremely intimidated by the whole "gym" idea. I knew nothing about how to work the machines, let alone what exercises to do (how often and how many), etc. This kept me out of the gym for years. After finally getting enough courage to go in and actually start a membership, I knew right away that the ONLY way I would actually get use out of the membership would be if I was seeing a trainer. I needed a reason to force myself to go every day. In my time training with Ben, I have become a lot more comfortable with the gym environment, as well as with myself. I am beginning to feel good about myself which is definitely a first in my life. I feel comfortable knowing that when I come in, he has taken the time to plan a workout that is best for me, as well as being there to make sure that I am doing everything correctly. Achieving the best possible results makes everything worth it. If I was working out alone, there would be a lot of stuff I never try, not knowing what to do or not to do. Ben is always available when I have questions about something or when I am wondering why I am doing something a specific way. He always pushes me, usually way harder than I would push myself (Obviously it must work because I am still going and that last rep didn't kill me). He is actually interested in his clients reaching their goals. When he is working with you, he is 100% focused on what you are doing. If I were entering the gym on my own, I would never have worked on my arms because I only wanted to work on my stomach. Ironically, my arms are what I get the most compliments about now. I have learned that you can't focus on just one part of your body and progress evenly. I consider myself lucky to go through this experience. I have seen many people who went through negative experiences with trainers. They never come back to the gym. For me, training has only been beneficial. "What I appreciate and liked the most about training with Ben was the variety of exercises , hitting various muscle groups at the same time. I would do one exercise for a muscle, but with a concentration on that muscle while simultaneously requiring more core facilitation and balance, so then hitting many other areas of the body. " I have been training with Ben for approximately two months. I find his training sessions to be very challenging and each session increases with difficulty. He expects you to give 100% and pushes you when you have nothing left to give. Being an avid runner, I have found these sessions provide me with a more effective way to get maximum results. They provide with an overall full body workout, better stability, flexibility, body composition, and more energy.  " If you're old like me (70), out of shape, and want to get back in shape (or somnolence of shape), this is where to go. Working out with Ben I sometimes wonder what the heck I'm doing to myself. But after several months, I look better, I've lost weight, decreased my waistline, sleep better, and occasionally hurt all over - but it's a good kind of hurt! He has me doing things that I could not do before, like walking on a treadmill, biking (stationary) and climbing mountains on a step machine...all done with some compassion for this old man. He changes the workout weekly and they are challenging, but built on the previous week's work.   "My intention when I hired Ben was to lose weight and increase my strength. I was under the impression that I would be doing a lot of cardio and weight lifting. Tuesdays every week for three months was the first day of the week that I would meet with Ben. He would have some crazy workouts for me.
